Absolutely. As above, transfering between the two systems via media will work.

Another thing you can do for the future is network the two machines - you also have the option of choosing whether (or not) to set up her machine to share your internet access. We took forever before going about this since it sounded 'daunting' but it proved to be a piece of cake! Has saved me hours in transfer of files between my husband's and my machines. (I'm the 'puter tech in this house)

1- You can usually get network cards for old mother boards, for as little as $8 each for wired ones. If they are newer motherboards they will have usually have networking built in (sometimes wireless).

2- The second piece of equipment you need is a router. Both computers connect to the router (wireless or by wire) and you can have one folder on your computer where you want to put your shared files -- so that you only have to go to her machine and click on File manager and ONLY the shared folder will show up on her computer to be used. Click the file and patch her machine!

If you're both using XP, then setting up a file sharing network can be amazingly easy. :) Fry's Electronics or Circuit City type stores can often have geeky sales folks that advise on what to get and whether or not you need cables. You'll have to let them know what mother boards your machines are using.

Have fun!

Yes it is... just download and use something like Nero or Roxio Easy CD Creator to make a data disc. I suggest putting other stuff onto the disc too, such as maybe other data. It can then become a small backup CD as well. 2 for 1.

Yeah - just save the patch to your PC and transfer it to your wife's PC using a disc, CD or whatever method suits you.
