To wipe clean everything off your hard disk, including the operating system (Windows) itself, is known as reformatting.
Make sure that you have the CD for installing your operating system at hand. If you are using Windows XP, you just need to boot from the CD and follow the on-screen procedures.

reformat will clean all back to new state, everything is clear, brite & works like new again, should be done every 6 month or so.

that would depend on your OS(windows/mac/redhat) try using advance search! search for the files you want to delete. to search for old files use the date filter.
