Let me try to list what freedom they have in USA:
1- Social and Sexual Freedom
2- Economic Freedom
3- Freedom of Speech (with limitations)
4- Right to Elect their Government (with limitations)
5- Freedom of Morals and Values (no offense meant to the majority of Americans who I highly respect, but your country set a good example for the youth to be morals-free).
6- Freedom of Religion
Those are some of the many freedoms that are GIVEN to the Americans for ONLY SINGLE freedom that are taken from them:
The single freedom that they are not allowed for is: FREEDOM OF THINKING
We, in the Arabworld, lack most of the freedoms that are OFFERED to Americans. However, we still have our freedom to think. Not that we are OFFERED this freedom (of thinking) by OUR loving governments, but luckily our media, as any other thing in the Arabworld, is just crawling towards development, they have not been able to brainwash us yet as the American media is doing to Americans!

Why do people feel the need to pick on the USA and use them as an example??
No-one is entirely free now are they!!
Everyone has to work for a living, everyone has to follow a particular law. These are put in place for everyone and they are there for a reason.
Coming from England, we have a government in power now that has taken away many things from us. The NHS is going down the tubes, buses and trains have been privatised which have raised fare costs etc. Our taxes rise each year as do the prices of fuel and shopping. We have media here that twists everything it writes in a bid to brainwash us into believing what they want us to believe.
As for the war........ we also have a government that is too much of a wus to say no and they have put many of our men lives at risk because of this.
WHAT ARE WE DOING TO STOP IT??
NOTHING!!
It doesn't matter what we say or want, the government in all countries are a law unto themselves. They are all scratching eachothers backs and none of them have the balls to stand up and say "this isn't right".
It is NOT just the Americans!!

Freedom is just an illusion, the process of controlling people through language has been developed to a fine art by those in government with the cooperation of the media, our educational institutions, and the entertainment industry. The use of the socially acceptable phrase "politically correct" exemplifies this. In the final analysis, politically correct thoughts are nothing more than those acceptable to the ruling establishment.
Americans are no longer free and democracy is just an illusion kept alive by the ruling establishment so they can have their way with us. This would be the verdict of our Founding Fathers if they were alive today and this is the verdict that would be reached by any intelligent individual who impartially examines our present situation
We think we are free because we confuse personal freedom with political freedom and no one in government, the media, or our educational institutions will risk their jobs or future well being by clearing up our misconceptions. We have lost the only thing that ensures our personal freedom; our political freedom and an inevitable result is that we are now losing our personal freedom as well.
Our perception of rights and minority rights has changed and because of this, we docilely accept a government that instead of protecting our rights, extends or takes them away at will.

I feel it is ridiculous to state that those in the US "NEVER felt free to question it." If you spent any time in the US you would know that pretty much everything in the US is questioned. Conspiracy theories abound in spades here.
Also ridiculous is the idea that no other peoples but those in the US would allow government to increase their power. Hello? what planet do you live on? Yes, movement and communication is so free in communist countries and the media is so free in the middle east. (<--in case you missed it, that was sarcasm)

Nonsense. Demonstrated where? I would like to read those studies.
With our freedom of speech there is a debate as to the value of the media going on in this culture.
Granted, there are a large number of "wage slaves" in this country. Mostly by people who can't seem to manage their credit. Still that is a choice. More and more people are learning to live within their means and to have more choices in changing jobs.
Curtailing movement? Bull.
Communications? You are reading this on the Internet right? Have you seen some of the content from this country? Stuff that people call "conspiracy theory" is easily available. Information that some would consider treason is accessible to anyone.
The great thing about the freedom of speech is that it exposes bad ideas and stupidity to the light of examination. Just like the crap that you are trying to spew. Doctor heal thyself. Your fear mongering is falling on deaf ears.

I am free to question my government as I please. I do not have a need to right now as they are doing a good job. This is not a communistic state where we are controlled.

You commies will never understand or want freedom.
But if you should ever get freedom, you'd love it like we do.
