Amount u wrote = (100x + y) paise
Cashier gives = (100y + x) paise
U spend 50P and are left with = (100y + x - 50) paise
this is 3 times what u had written so,
100y + x - 50 = 3(100x + y)
so, 97y - 50 = 299x
so, y = (299x + 50)/ 97
Now 299 = 291 + 8 = 97x3 + 8
so you need a value of x (integer) such that y is also an integer.
And x must be less than 34 because the y can not be more than 100
Now possible value of x satisfying this condition is 18
so, x = 18 and y = 56

money wrote = 100x + y paisa
money given = 100y +x paisa
money left after he spent = 100y + x - 50 .....(1)
also given that money left after spnt = 3(100x + y) .....(2)
equating 1 and 2
100y+x-50=300x+3y
97y=299x+50
Put y=2x+k, wr k is var..
105x+50=97k
LHS:multiple f 5
=>k%5=0, wr %=>remainder
checkin fr k=5,10,15,20, v get k=20
=>x=18.
Hence, soln is:
x=18, y=2x+k=56
Money written=Rs 18.56
Money given = Rs 56.18
Checkin, v get the ans.
