I liked Bora Bora but it is expensive. It is kind of a get away type holiday. There is not a lot to do on the island other than the hotels and enjoy the nice weather. It is a very pretty place, but also very small so you can see all of it (at least the roads) in less than a day...in fact I bicycled around the island. Personally I like Moorea better, but it is pricey and still just anothe island in the tropics.
For a great cultural vacation where you will really see Polynesia, try the Cook Islands. Charming, same climate, really nice people, and way less commercial tourism.

I have been there ,and yes it is...with out question. Hopefully you are going with your special someone as its not to fun if you go alone. If you are so inclined and want to spend, get one of the overwater bungalows ...Le Meriden..has the best ones they are on a private beach and the hotel resturaunts are wonderful....have fun bora bora is heaven on earth
