Depends, by Lord of the Rings do you mean all of the characters in those books? If that's the case of course they'll kick harry's butt. However, if by Lord of the Rings you mean Sauron, then I think that Harry could have a chance at winning. He could just stand off from a distance and turn him into a bunny or something before sauron could reach him with his sword. I haven't seen any indication that sauron's power is magical like harry's is. Of course if he were up against Gandalf that would be a different match up.

I think they'd make a great team! lol But I have to think that Valdemort was probably the second most powrful wizard in those books...and made Harry Potter his Equal..meaning transferred all his powers to Harry. In the Lord Of the Rings...if you know the back ground of all the beings in Middle Earth..including Sauron, You will know that Gandalf is the most powerful being in Middle Earth, and Sauron knew him that's why he had to remain hidden from Sauron til it was too late for Sauron to do anything about it....I would have to say that The most powerful being between the two books...was Gandalf. ( I know I get into this stuff way too much! lol ).

Win what? I am a huge fan of Tolkein and of Rowlings. I prefer the LOTR movies, but I prefer the Harry Potter books. If you love fantasy fiction books you might try Robert Jordans' Wheel of Time Series if you haven't already. Awesome reads.

As for a fight: Harry Potter would beat Sam Gangee but Golam would kick Dobie's butt....lol

Win what, the Quidditch world cup or the battle at the box office?

Or do you mean a gladiator battle to the death between Harry Potter and Sauron?

Maybe you could clarify a little and we could provide some decent responses...

Sauron the big red flaming eyeball versus Harry "where's my wand" Potter?
Umm, well, Potter, probably, since he's a "hero" and Sauron is a "villain" and in most "stories" the villains lose.
Hope that clears up the whole "fiction" thing for you.

Yeah even one of the fat hobbit extras (that don't even get a line in the movie) could kick Potter's ****.
