Students graduating with thousands of pounds of debt, first-time buyers struggling to buy homes, and the cost of running any car is (and sorry for this) absolutely ******* stupid money. Has anyone else considered moving abroad?

Too true, never mind rip off Britain, totally ripped off British more like it, I love how they reckon the average wage is supposed to be £28,500, the average price for a semi is £128,995, oh and petrol is allegedly 4 times cheaper than it was a year ago, who the hell does these statistics, petrol has gone through the roof along with gas, electric, rates, water, food and god knows what else, the wages are not rising and if they are who is getting those salaries, no one I know, buying a house for the first time is basically unattainable, students are in debt for wanting a better start to life, my husband has worked for the same company for 12 years and his wage hasn't changed that much in that time, I am beginning to wonder how any of us are going to be able to even buy food in the next 12 months let alone pay bills.

Yes - I am a graduate (unemployed - too much competition, although I've had a great education and did well at Uni), and feel the same way as you. I want to move to Canada. I live up north but petrol is still ******* expensive. I'm at a loss whether I should rent a flat (dead money) or get a mortgage (too much commitment - I'm only 22 and single). Its lovely in Canada. I'd be happy doing a simple job there too, I think. :-(

No it's not.Every country has it's ups & downs,so they equal out.You have one of the greatest blessings in the world, the nhs.You have the safety net of income support if you lose your job.I think Britain is a great place to live.Millions of stupid people have cars they don't need, then complain about the cost of running them.I agree first time buyers should get more help,& student loans are a disgrace. But all in all, this is the best place to be.

WHY, it is the same, only the value of the currencey is different, pro rata, you have the added burden of being a foriegner, possibly unable to communicate in the language, the weather may be better
that is if you discount the skin cancer rates, the medical exspenses are higher, the education system may be inferior, so if you take a peice of paper write the pluses and the negatives of living in the uk you will find that as i did that the for out weighs the nays.

I have, but I'm an American and was thinking of heading your way.
None of that stuff is any better here. Count your blessings, brother. At least your country is being run by a man who can actually form complete sentences, cogent arguements, and express complex ideas. You don't know what hell is until one day you realize that the best leadership your country can muster is a slack-jawed yokel with a room temperature IQ.

Heaven and Hell.
The UK is heaven for some people and hell for others.
I live abroad - why do think it's any better over here - foreign states are also going to hell but just focus on different aspects at different times.
Look at the national press - if we can't think for ourselves and we read sh*te, what do you expect?

Given the amount of student debt that I have incurred, I am giving serious thought to converting to Judaism and emigrarting to Israel so as to join the Israeli Defence Force.

It would be an adventure!
