The throne would pass to William's child, whether it were a boy or a girl. Queen Victoria's father predeceased her and she inherited the throne ahead of several uncles. The line of succession is meant to proceed in as straight a line as possible, without going sideways if possible.
One other fascinating point - if a king died leaving only a daughter, she would succeed him to the throne. But if the queen consort were pregnant and subsequently gave birth to a boy, that newborn baby would immediately become king and displace his elder sister!
Incidentally, pinkjinx, Anne's children (and Margaret's and the late Princess Mary's) do not have royal titles because of the sexist way in which the title of HRH is handed out, but they are still in the line of succession.

Yes, Prince William's child would take his place in the line of succession.
Assuming his father, Prince Charles is King, should Prince William die, his child would be next in line. If the child were underage when the monarch dies, then the child would become King/Queen, with someone appointed as regent until they reached the age of 18 and could reign in their own right. Provided there is only one child, it doesn' t matter what sex the child is - he/she would succeed. If there were two children, a girl and a boy, the boy would succeed as males take precedence over females in the succession.
Should William have no children, or should his child(ren) die prematurely, then Prince Harry would become next in line to the throne.

It would depend on whether the Queen is still around or not. If she has passed on, Charles is next in line. If they were both gone, then until the child is able to govern, Harry would most probably have the acting role until the child is old enough.

It would pass to William's eldest child, regardless of sex. That is a change as it was passed to the 1st male child. If the child was very young, a regent would be appointed. The linage would be Charles, William, his children, Prince Harry, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward then Ralph. Ithink that was his name.(King Ralph) I think it was called. Good comedy

according to line of succession William's son or daughter would be the next monarch. Harry would only become monarch if something happened to William before he had children or abdicated such as what happened to Queen Elizabeth II's uncle--Edward. King Edward VII (?) abdicated to marry the woman he loved--Wallis Simpson, who was a twice divorced American woman. Therefore the monarchy passed on to Elizabeth's father

Prince Harry, becsue the crown will go to the next closest to the queen, Williams child would be an additional generation away from her. So Harry would be king and regardless of the age william's child .
Harry would be king.

I'm certainly learning... If Prince William had a gild first and AFTER had a boy...you say the Boy would be king over his elder sister?
Isn't this sexism?? I though sexism was abolished in England...
I hope that dear Queen Elizabeth will see to it that this sexist law be changed before her departure...
It is so unfair to still have to fight sexism...
She has the power to make such change... Hope she will...

Yes, as soon as William has children the will be in line to the throne, before Harry and his children, followed by Prince Andrew and his children, Prince Edward and his children, and lastly Princess Royal, Anne and her children (although) she did not want them to have royal titles and they may not be included in the list. Then it would Princess Margaret's son and his children.... etc etc
