Well, after I drank enough of it, it stopped mattering so much, and others who also drank a lot of it told me I was beautiful.
LOL!
Seriously, it dries your skin and can cause overproduction of oil. I prefer Noxzema.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is: http://www.acne-treatment-medicine-1.info/

G'day Lamar Paylor,
Thanks for your question.
I have never tried it. Some people say that you shouldn't use it because it makes the problem worse. This applies to products with high proportions of rubbing alcohol because it causes dry flaky skin and possibly more blemishes as the skin produces more oils to compensate.
However, Medline Plus lists alcohol and sulphur as a possible topical solution without any drawbacks being listed.
User terunaz received best answer for this response about rubbing alcohol "I think it does help a bit but it does dry your skin out." More in answer

In conclusion, I would be cautious about rubbing alcohol but use alcohol and sulphur although there are other good treatments out there.
I have attached sources for your reference.
Regards

Sometimes alcohol can cause more acne because the skin tries to over-hydrate. When the skin is dry, it sends a signal that there is a need for more oil. If you want to use alcohol on your face, it's best to follow with a moisturizer.

If you're considering such measures as using alcohol on your acne, then you should go see a dermatologist. A prescroption acne cleanser, topical gel, and possibly a pill that cures your acne from the inside out can work wonders and is obviously much more safer.

Use an alcohol- saturated cotton swab to dab on the acne only if you're picking at it. This will minimize the alcohol on your face or wherever so you won't get completely dried out. Just the area concerned. After it's gone, try using a very light moisturizer so you won't get oily build-up.

Use a good soap (I personally use dove) and moisturize with a non-oily moisturizer. I have sensitive skin and use Johnsons baby lotion and use it as soon as I'm through bathing because the pores are open and absorb better. But seriously use a wash cloth to wash your face because it helps to rub off excess dry or dead skin cells. Wash, but don't scrub. Alcohol (witch hazel is gentler) for occasional deep cleansing is o.k. but regular use dries the skin and then the body overproduces oil to try to compensate. Try this for a week and I'll bet you see a difference. And drink lots of water to flush the toxins out of your system. Good luck.

Alcohol doesn't help cure acne and too much of it on your face can dry up your skin.

Alcohol dries out the pores and can actually cause white heads to form. Use Witch hazel instead.

It works great if you have oily skin. It is a very good cleaning agent. When you use it, you can see the dirt and oil come right off of your face. It also helps to dry up those unsightly pimples. If you don't have really dry skin, TRY IT!!! It won't hurt anything.

i used rubbing alocohol years ago on it cause my skin was "oily?"
if u have dry skin it probally wouldnt be a good idea. It seemed to help with me tho. Dont use it every day.
You can also us hot water, hot as u can stand it, put it on the tip of a washrag and then on the problem spot. That will force it thru the skin.
