Usually foolish people cause no harm to other people.
Our thinking that they are foolish, and we look down upon them, or we ignore them, that is a grave injury. If they have the chance, or if we create a chance for them to enter a loving and respectful community, they may behave differently.

Treat him/her the way he/she should be treated - like a fool!

On a serious note, depends on what 'foolish' is all about. He/she could be ignorant, needs to know more and needed help; and be happy that he/she looked up to you and seek you always.
