I have never heared an hurrican occuring in say Africa. Is it possible that there has never been a hurrican in Africa for example?

certain systems occur in certain regions because of the climate and the water and air currents. Yes they focus in on places like the australian and american coasts, but they aren't limited to that.

Africa gets its fair share, might not be hurricans or cyclones, but they get floods and violent storms too.

No one is immune.

There has never been a hurricane or typhoon where I live... in the midwest (we do have a few floods though when one of the creeks gets too full after a big rain).

hurricane is referred to as cyclones in around the african/indian regions. maybe that's why?it usualy occurs around southern africa between dec-march
