Animal Crossing, what is the aim of the game?

I have it for my DS.. i seem to be doing the same things all the time, fishing or finding shells and selling them to tom nook or delivering letter for other people.. what is the aim of this game?? what is ment to be the end result of it? how long does the game go on for?

The game has no aim in the typical sense of a game or movie being driven by a story and having an aim to achieve. You just live your life in the game, make friends, fish, just exist.

I think the game just goes on and on cos it's in real time. The aim is to keep making money to make your house bigger and better, and make your town as nice as possible and keeping all the residents happy. You can visit other peoples towns as well and get them to visit yours too through wifi. Hope you have fun!

if someone found the true purpose of this game they would know the meaning of life since this game is based off life there is no big goal in life no set story you just live life and animal crossing is a game about living life

The purpose of the game is to live your life, i guess it could also be to get every single item but that would take over a year.

Try to get your museum and catalog full, upgrade your house till its a mansion (I have it), upgrade Tom Nook's shop into Nookington's (I have it), keep your town perfect, play with other people over WFC, or if you are bored with it, check http://www.animalcrossingcommunity.com/acchome.asp for a club and join it to get more money.
