braces...contact lenses...help with both...??

Question

i just got contacts today. its feeling real wierd. and i cant get the hang of putting it in my eye... it takes me forever... any advice?

ive just been subscribed to braces today... horror! horror! do you think it will be alright???? god! i hope so! i dont have to do it.. im 12. they say everything will be okay by 14... yeah... i think i should go for it.. what do you think?

Well, im wearing both braces and contacts.

FOr braces, if no extraction is required, the time for you to get used to it is shorter. FOr me, they put braces on my lower jaw first. it aches quite a bit and i felt like all my teeth were loose. but after about a week or so, it'll be ok. it's the same for the upper jaw. you'll get used to it. soon, you'll feel no different from not having braces

as for contacts, you can look your eye in the mirror and not move. it'll be easier to put it on that way. close your eyes and roll your eyeball up so that it'll shift to the correct position. then open your eyes. (: it takes a while getting used to too.

I am the contact pro I can even put them in in the dark the trick is to tilt your head down like your lookin at your feet move your eyeballs up without moving your head and place them on the whites just blow the iris then look up, down, left and right and blink to get the gap of air out. try rewetting drops till you get used to them if they dont feel completely comfortable within a week you might have the wrong size ( I have a very deep base curve so my contacts are a different size) check with your eye DR

I have contacts too! When I first got them I hardly put them in because it was mostly for school. I had a hard time for a while, but just put them in everyday and bring your contact case to school in case they're bugging you too much. You'll get faster and faster every time. Also, braces aren't that bad. They hardly even hurt the day you get them on. Its mostly the day after, and motrin can take care of that. Also, if you do get them ask for two waxes because your mouth will get sores for a few days until you get used to them. I used up my wax in 2 days. Good luck with both! xoxo

How do your teeth look? Do you think you need the braces? I had a dentist tell me I need them. I went to the orthodontist when I was like 12 or so. It was a big debate about whether to pay for them. But, the orthodontist insisted I need them. So my parents paid. I got them, got sick of them in a few month. I got them taken off. My teeth went back to their original location and havne't moved since even though I was told they could get bad. My teeth look rather normal today. I'd get a few professional opinions, at least two.

well, contacts take time to get used to, give it time and youll be able to put them in without a mirror. (hell, i had one fall out while driving down the highway and got it back in no problem). theyll feel odd, but you really shouldnt be able to feel them that much, if you do then they probably arent sized correctly for you. as for braces, your lucky... i had mine all through high school! get it done and over with early. they do hurt like hell sometimes, load up on some pain meds, eat soft food, make sure you brush them good, and youll be fine. you get used to the pain, and it goes away. good luck. just think when they come off, your teeth will be straight and youll have a smile worth 1000 bucks! haha, good luck though.

it is normal to feel strange for first time contact lenses. you feel something is "stuck" inside. after a while it will be okay. it also took me a while before i can wear mine swift and quick.

sorry i cannot help you on the braces part cos i never had them myself. but i am sure it will turn out just fine. run to your dentist if you have major problems.

hy i know it feels hopeless the first few days after the contacts,iv been wearing them for 3 years now.wen inserting them put the lense on ur fore finger then look away with the eye u are goin to insert the lense in then shut ur eye to avoid blinking and ur eyes getting teary....................seee easy as pie.

braces braces gotta hate them but ul love them when ther off,just bear with them its lyk investin ur returns will be big

first thing..buy a very good cleanser and rinse your contact very well so it will feel comfortable.. be sure that your hands are clean and dry..
use your index finger to pick up the contacs then use your thumb and mid finger in opening your eyes..or mid finger of both of your hands..whicever is comfortable for you
i put a tiny drop of cleanser in my contacts and in my eyes so that it will not be dry.. try these it helped me..
