I might have a viginal infection. I've been for long with this person but we've both had other relationships in our past. They told me that the result of vaginal warts could mean that my partner is having another affair behind my back. Should I worry? I know this couldn't be true.

Stephanie, please don't listen to these morons. It IS possible for the HPV virus which cause venereal warts to lie dormant for many years (in some people, much longer than others). Although it is more common for it to show up within six months, "more common" does not = "all of the time". It is also possible for both men and women to have physical signs of venereal warts and not realize it. For example, a person can have just one wart and it be very small for a number of years (only slightly larger than a raised hair follicle)...small enough to go unnoticed or be mistaken for something else. Nobody here on Yahoo answers knows whether your partner has been cheating. If you have complete trust in him, that is what matters. Again, it IS possible for either of you to have been carrying this in a dormant stage for years. Both of you should get tested, get treated (if necessary), and then get on with your lives together.

How can you be so sure he hasn't been with some one else? The vaginal warts also known as "HPV" is treatable but you may have had them from another guy from before. At any rate your current lover needs treatment as well. It's now been found that "HPV can cause cervical cencer, which very serious. Now that you know you have them, I can't express how important it is have your pap smear done at least once a year.I had vaginal warts both me and my husband ,and got cervical ca at 31.

What Are They? Genital warts are warts that are located near or in the genital areas. In a female, that means on or near the vulva (the outside genital area), vagina, cervix, or anus. Vaginal warts are caused by a strain of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). It is now known that the incidence of cervical carcinoma is MUCH greater in women who have this virus. You must go to your doctor and have the warts treated. A PAP smear is also urgently needed.
Good luck

Warts can erupt years after contact with the infecting person, so don't assume anything.
