Anythink? Your main premise is wrong. The "government" does not develop casinos. Some state governments may have to pass laws to allow casinos to be built. Legislators and governors are looking for tax income so they can spend more on social programs.
The NHS is not in "crisis." It gets its annual funding.
Which more people are living in poverty? Not in the US. Right now the so-called poverty level for a family of four is $32,000.00 per year or less. In most other countries a person would be rich with that kind of income.
Pensions, in some cases, are underfunded. Because we have a pension guarantee fund in the US, companies have been finding ways to use it to get out of pension obligations. It is called "loophole." The US government should not be funding social programs of any kind. Someone always finds a "loophole."
The US government is not "lost." It is still located in Washington, DC. Addresses and telephone numbers are readily available.
Ever hear the expression: "Crying with a loaf of bread under your arm?" That's what you are doing. In general, people in the US are better off today than ever before.

Just a word of warning here. The UK has a tradition of not voting in a government, but voting one out. The Conservative Party is desperate to get back into power and are starting to make extravagant promises about how they will deal with the problems mentioned in the question. They haven't as yet said how, and New Labour made the same promises without saying how - and they haven't come up with the goods. When it comes to the next election voters have a duty to themselves to examine the manifestos and put the candidates on the line by asking questions during the election campaign. It has been said, that in a democracy, the people get the government they deserve. If this is true, look what you've got now. I don't have a vote in the UK, so it's not my problem - just don't be hood-winked by all the hype.

1) Govt's don't develop casinos, they regulate them.
2) re: pension, are you referring to social security? I, personally, forgo many pleasures now (I drive a $15,000 dollar car instead of a $40,000 dollar car), am 41 and can retire in 5 years.....all due to the fact that I took control of MY pension...and did not rely on a Govt. that was not designed to be our savior when we grow old.
3) Quite possible you are in poverty and have a poor pension because you cannot write a grammatically correct sentence?
Take responsibility for yourself and stop relying on the government

The end justifies the means. Cause and win wars first, and other things would be added unto it.

To perpetuate oneself...the goal of all political participants...these days, anyway.
