A wound like this (and yes it is a wound) can itch if it is healing or if it is infected. Does it look red and puffy, does it hurt to touch? That means infection. Since the piercing is new, don't take out the earring or you'll run the risk of it closing up. Apply an antiseptic cream regularly and if it gets worse, see a gp.
If it is healing, it will stop on its own. Keep an eye on it, occassionally twist the earring or it may get stuck and clean it regularly.

It's healing. A good treatment for any piercing is to dissolve a little sea salt in warm water and soak the area in it (with an ear piercing, you can put it in a coffee or tea cup with just a little room at the top, and it'll form a seal so water won't leak out). It helps the piercing to heal faster, and keeps the little crusties that can get inside and cause an infection from getting in there. :)

First of all did you have this done with a gun or by a piercer with a needle? If it was by a piercer with a needle then go back and have them change the jewelry to something longer that will fit properly...if not then go to a local piercer and have them put in a piece of jewelry that will fit better. Secondly the itching could be a sign of healing or could be due to irritation from imbedded jewelry and from changing the jewelry in such a new piercing. Go have a local piercer look at it!

It means u will have a very bad time sleeping...
As for the remedy, I will advise u to take a good dose of Vodka n sleep.. u can apply a little cream to the itching area n let it heal by itself. If ur not diabetic, it must be done in two weeks max.

that its starting to heal. i have 23 piercings and whenever any of them started healing, they itched. its odd, but the skin is healing and thats what it feels like. i dont suggest itching it though, you might move it wrong and get it infected, just make sure you clean it well when your sopposed to with the right stuff.
