I have been cleaning it twice a day with salty water and putting Savlon on it.

Try bathing it with an antiseptic liquid such as TCP or Savlon, My piercings both went like yours, very sore and weepy but this sorted it out, after the redness and soreness has cleared up go back to using salt water to clean it for a while until it has completely healed.

You need to clean it every day with surgical spirit, belly button piercings get infected easily because there is no airflow, unlike the ears, it stays moist and warm, a perfect breeding ground for germs.

I'd take it out straight away as it could easily turn septic and get really bad. It's just as well really because, I don't mean to be rude, but belly button piercings aren't really very fashionable anymore!

I agree with "me." Mine took about 6 months to heal also and was all red and sore until I went back to the shop and had THEM take it out and switch it with a pure gold one. it healed up within a matter of a week. also be sure to always wear low rider jeans. you do not want anything rubbing against it until it is all better.

keep it in put a patch over it and keep it clean and put savlon on it but don't have baths cos dirty water will infect it even more!

Most interesting question. Could you please let me know when and how you take your belly button out.

On a serious note though I really cannot understand why people have their bodies pierced as yours is an all to common complaint after having had it done.

Mine took nearly 6 months to heal completely... Maybe you are allergic to the metal. If it doesn't improve soon go to a doctor, or try switching the ring with gold or platinum...

I would not take it out if you are really wanting to keep it, but if you are in pain then it seems pointless to put yourself through it. I was told that it had to be kept really clean to prevent infection
