there are a ton of songs by that name (Kingston Trio, Yardbirds, Ramones, John Oates, LK Potts, Powerman 5000, Hellblazer, My Ruin, Slade, and Alphavalle all did songs of that name), though I think you may be referring to the song by Mann and Weil since many of those songs don't actually have the song title sung anywhere in the lyrics, and since this song is right in the time period you mentioned.

Just go to Yahoo or Google, type in the song lyrics you remember in quotes, then outside of the quotes, type in Lyrics (since pages with song lyrics usually have the word Lyrics in its title). Then just weed through the results and see what you get!@

I put the parts I know into Yahoo or Google search, along with the word "lyrics". They usually return with a lot of hits and I can usually find what I'm looking for that way. For example: "Shape of Things to Come" is a song written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, most famously performed by Max Frost and the Troopers on their 1968 album Shape of Things to Come

RAMONES LYRICS
"The Shape Of Things To Come"
There's a new sun Risin' up angry in the sky
And there's a new voice Sayin' "we're not afraid to die"
Let the old world make believe It's blind and deaf and dumb
But nothing can change the shape of things to come
There are changes Lyin' ahead in every road
And there are new thoughts Ready and waiting to explode
When tomorrow is today The bells may toll for some
But nothing can change the shape of things to come
The future's comin' in, now Sweet and strong
Ain't no-one gonna hold it back for long
There are new dreams Crowdin' out old realities
There's revolution Sweepin' in like a fresh new breeze
Let the old world make believe It's blind and deaf and dumb
(But) nothing can change the shape of things
To come

Could it be the Ramones "Shape of Things to Come"?
There's a new sun Risin' up angry in the sky
And there's a new voice Sayin' "we're not afraid to die"
Let the old world make believe It's blind and deaf and dumb
But nothing can change the shape of things to come
There are changes Lyin' ahead in every road
And there are new thoughts Ready and waiting to explode
When tomorrow is today The bells may toll for some

The future's comin' in, now Sweet and strong

usually i just put the lyrics into a search engine usually google or yahoo and add lyrics to the end of the search. it usually comes up with the artist and the song you typed in. its that simple even from a few words you can basically find any song!

Type in the segments that are in the chorus of the song.
Usually the title of the song comes from there.
