I read here that SMART-1 will crash into the Moon. But I don't know what time is that. I live in Europe with the time GMT + 2h. Can I see the impact? Please tell me what time it will be!!!

At 7:41 AM CEST (05:41 GMT) on September 3rd, the moon will be up in North and South America, Hawaii, and possibly Australia. This time was selected to give as many telescopes as possible the best shot at getting observations. However, it is possible that Smart-1 will impact a hill on the orbit prior to this, bringing it in about 7 hours earlier at 21:33 CEST (9:33 GMT) leaving the moon visible only from telescopes in continental Europe, Russia, Africa, and I suppose England, though the moon will still be kind of low at that time that far west.

This is not likely to be a naked eye event in terms of a flash of light, but we

Impact time is 5:41 UT or GMT, so add your +2 hrs and you will have the time you are looking for.... Good Luck..
