Are you trying to prepare for an Alaska winter in a car not designed for starting in such weather? If so, I would recommend a bigger battery - or a double battery setup.

If you are installing a lot of stereo equipment, or preparing an older car with minimal electronics for EFI, my recommendation is that you upgrade your alternator and install larger diameter wires on it. Usually in such situations, the limit is that the alternator is not capable of putting out more amps.

Remove every connector, clean it and reassemble it with dielectric grease. The reduced resistance will increase the current.
