Terrain:
You will see a lot of ancient volcanic mountain ranges. Lots of sharp ridged volcanic mountain that blend into Ha Long Bay, making the thousands of islands found there.

The places where there are't volcanic mountains looks a lot like the Midwest of the United States. Fields as far as the eye can see frequently dotted with villages.

People:
Physically, the North Vietnamese look more like each other than those of South Vietnam. The women are dark hair, light skin, usually no taller than 5' 0", very petite, very beautiful and look like they're 16. The men are usually skinny, usually about 5'2" to 5' 4", usually weight no more that 150 lbs wet.

You will rarely see a North Vietnamese that is overweight, and it's probably a foreigner if you do see a fat one.

Society:
North Vietnam has been influenced by communism much longer than South Vietnam. That in mind, they tend to be more narrow minded about their thoughts and opinions than those from the South. Ho Chi Minh is worshiped in the North, whiel still hated in the South.
