I can honestly say that I don't believe in blanket hatred of anyone. I can't say that I know all of the French so I can't hate all of the French. I can say that when I was in Paris and Nice (just after the start of the war when anti-French sentiment was at it's peak here in the US) I was treated with the utmost courtesy, kindness, and respect by everyone I met.
For example, when I arrived at the train station in Paris from London I was lost. I had been told (in London) that I could exchange my currency at the train station in Paris even though I was arriving on a Sunday. That was incorrect, the exchange station was closed and the machine that took credit/debit cards was broken. Three Frenchwomen came up to me, as I obviously looked lost, and asked (in nearly flawless English) if I needed help. I explained that I was without Euros and that I was lost. Not only did they pay for my rail ticket, they picked up my bags, carried them onto the train and physically escorted me to where I needed to go. That wasn't the only show of kindness I received in Paris. Literally, every time I asked for directions I was personally escorted to where I needed to go. I was met with no hostility or anger whatsoever. I can honestly state that I had not one bad experience in neither Paris nor Nice.

It's impossible to answer that question really because there are different kinds of people (good and bad) in France as there are anywhere else.
However as a generalisation I would say that I like the French and their culture and although the English and French have their differences we also share a lot in common and have had strong cultural and trading ties since the dawn of civilisation. Vive La France!

I'm British and there has been a long standing rivalry between Uk & France.
I know that they can be annoying and have some strange ideas - but on the flip side I'm sure that they find something as great as HAGGIS a bit odd !!!
Most of the insults (from both sides) are mainly in good fun and are not to be taken seriously.
The french have given the world some great things.

Why would one hate the French. Super language, great food and wine, fantastic country and yes, I like the people. I can't understand this francophobia - especially when so many Brits go to live there!

I have no reason to hate anyone, hate is a very big word and you should always be careful about the context it is used in.
