Anytime you download anything, even if you are paying for it, there is a chance for intrusion. On an off note, why would you pay for this service?

You are unlikely to get viruses from mp3, aac or wma files but any other files you download can still harbour viruses. Make sure you have a good AV product like NOD32 or AVG or Trend.

depends .. if you are downloading directly from a shop site (such as HMV in the uk) then probably not although better safe than sorry.

If you are downloading peer to peer (ie directly from another users pc) then there is a far higher risk since they may not even be aware that they HAVE a virus.

When downloading and you are asked if you want to `run` or `save` the file. Save the file and run a virus/spyware check on it first, then if everything is OK and nothing is found, `run` the programme.
Easy innit? :-)

hi, there are many site with virus that can hack your IE browser.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
