No desert. (Very small portions once a week is ok if you have to)

Drink a tall glass of water before every meal.
Snack on carotts & Celery (If you need a snack)
Swimming, dancing & or walking for 45 minuts.

Unfortunately there is only one way to lose weight and that is healthy eating and exercise. Rather than going to the gym itself why don't you try doing classes like Body Combat and Body Pump at Holmes Place. These classes are actually quite good fun and you meet like minded people trying to achieve the same goals. The Combat class is like kick boxing and is high energy, it is a great stress reliever and a serious calorie burner. Body Pump is a weights and toning class and combined with aerobic activity will tone and give you a fab figure. Last of all combine this with either Spin for BIG time calorie burn or Body Balance for calming yoga, pilates type toning. You don't have to go to the gym at all, just take a class.

I found the best way to lose weight fast is by substituting a lunch for a protein shake or a bowl of cereal for breakfast and lunch, not eating after 6 and just walking 3 miles a day or I would swim for an hr, or cycle for 5 miles a day, I lost a stone in 2 weeks...

If you want to lose pounds, watch what you are eating, cut out carbodydrates and fatty foods, eat plenty of fresh fruit and veges. If you don't want to go gym, then i suggest walking in the park fast walking, for about half an hour, do alot of walking, slow jog, hoovering, cleaning, cleaning the car, gardening, if you have a bike use the bike, try to walk more than using your car etc. Why don't you get a good aerobics dvd and you could work out at home too, you have to have the willpower, you have to increase your heart beat, drink plenty of water goodluck.

I hate the gym too. If you want some structured exercise try yoga or pilates classes. For some fun go to Salsa-those classes are popping up all over the place.
If you take public transport to and from work, get off about 2 or 3 stops from where you usually get off and walk the rest of the way.

Walking, jogging, swimming is very good for losing weight, any sports really will help u dont have to go to the gym, i lost 3 stone taking up swimming and i now love it. Try something new out it will help.

you have some great answers. Get yourself a pedometer, make sure you are walking enough. 10,000 steps a day is what they say and it works. If you are just floating around the house you will be lucky to get up to 3,000. wear the thing for a week, get into the habit, then chuck it, because step counting, like calory counting is not a lonmg term measure. just do it until you "recalibrate" yourself. Good luck, a year on from my baby i still have 50 lbs to lose, it is slow.

Late night eating. Don't eat past 8:00PM. I do go to the gym, and I used to go nights. I wouldn't eat until after the gym, and then go to bed. I lost a lot of weight when I ate before, and had nothing afterwards, and went to bed. Also, try a reduced fat, reduced carb diet, nothing too extreme, everything in moderation.

oh, im the same, hate the gym. Just cut back your calorie intake by about 200 cals a day, and walk a bit more, a few sit ups at home that sort of thing.

Even I hate the gym but u got pretty good answers. I use to do skipping on rope. Start with 20 skips & keep increasing count everyday
