I work for Bank of America as a Credit Card rep. How it works is that you need a credit score of 660 at minimum or better to actually get a credit card. From there, if its too low your limit will be small. If you keep getting rejected, signing up constantly is not good. Because you're credit score lowers everytime you sign up. The next best option if a credit card is ABSOLUTELY needed, Secured Credit Cards. Where you deposit a certain amount of money required to have that credit card. It gives you a small limit, but hey. It's a credit card. Use that to build your credit. Once it graduates, from secured, it becomes a regular card. Then your limit will go up.

you need to establish credit, so go to a bank and start a secured credit card. After you have been established you will not get rejected. Also don't send out a ton of applications. The more people look at your credit the worse it gets.

Good Luck

The only card you can get is a secured card. Meaning you have to pay the balance up front to be able to use that piece of plastic. Invest in Traveller's cheques.

Do you have your green card? If you are an American you should have no problem getting one.
