Child support is NEVER "set". It can always and constantly be changed. You're buisiness records can be used to show that you've lied (making you seem unfit), cheated (the government, the courts, your children, are a cheater and unfit), or to get you to pay court and lawyers fees for the other party. Once subpoenaed, only the courts and 'quash' it, and that is unlikely, as the courts, lawyers, and exes love watching you sweat. If she's been happy with the amount of child support and relatively quiet since she got the order, it might help to ask yourself why she wants this information now. Are you the one who started the motion for custody? Think the idea that you find yourself a better parent may have pissed her off? Could she be thinking that you want to get out of paying her child support at all? Some women hate giving up the power they hold over an ex by being able to control when where and how often you see your children. Some are scared that their children will start to perfer dad's new, hot, hip, young, girlfriend/wife over her... just like he does. Some look forward to the chance to see you at pick-up/take home times. She could be angry that you're trying to take away her last tie to you. Your best angle to 'quash' it would probably be to discontinue the custody issue. Otherwise you'd better start digging up some VERY SOLID EVIDENCE of her being unfit, and you may be surprised at how hard that is (I've know coke head mothers who've won custody against hard working, drug-free fathers). Then you can use it to get her to back down. Best bet... talk to your lawyer and hope he and her lawyer haven't gotten along since their last golf game together. You might also want to look for a good CPA. Dr. Paper might be able to help you out with a little creative accounting.

Looks like she may suspect you of hiding money. She wants to see how the business is really doing, so she can plan long term. That is not unusual in this day and age. She might also be looking to get you in trouble if she thinks you've been cooking the books! There are many reasons for, and not many for getting out of it. When it comes to making sure your kids are provided for, the courts and attorneys are pretty thorough.
