I'd much rather get rid of this mortal coil surrounded by laughter rather than tears. If I thought people were gonna laugh at my funeral I'd be chuffed to bits! Go for it! Have a huge belly laugh and maybe everyone else will join in. Send your dear departed on their merry way with a smile ...

Yeah, I've had issues at laughing at inappropriate times.
The last funeral I went to I got the giggles because the person next to me had the funniest singing voice. Then once I'd started laughing, it was really hard trying to stop.
To be honest, I think if you can't control it, it's best not to go, because it could really hurt people if they saw you laughing - even though I completely understand that you can't help it. I just remember when I was in that situation and I know I wouldn't want to be in it again. Maybe you could leave if it got too much and hopefully people would just think that you're upset!

It's really not that bad- just don't laugh during he ceremony- that would be rude.
But funerals really shouldn't be time to be depressed, but rather to remember and celebrate a person's life- to recall the funny stories and great experiences you had with them. And a little happiness goes a long way in helping the family overcome the pain of losing them.

WWJD. ha.
I've never felt like laughing but I have felt like crying which is kinda similar to control. My advice would be to look at a point on the wall and block out everything and concentrate as hard as you can on anything but the funeral and laughing. Before you know it, it will all be over and you'll be outside looking at the flowers everyone brought.

No you are not terrible at all!! I had this problem at my mother's funeral. My nephew was complaining about his shoes hurting his feet and wanted to take them off, my uncle told him his pants were crawling up his butt but he didn't want to talke them off. We all started laughing uncontrolably and couldn't stop. Then I realized that is just what mom would have wanted was for us to be happy that she had no more pain and wasn't suffering. She was with her other loved one that had passed before her. So don't feel bad if it happens, just explain that you think that is what the deceased person would have wanted.

I think its a very common thing for people to feel like that at funerals and not because they are ignorant either, nerves and tense moments have that effect on some people, emotion is a weird thing at times, don't beat yourself up over it.

The great thing about laughing is that it's easy to turn it into a cry. At least, you can make it seem that is what you're doing. Give it a shot.

Your nervousness causes laughter when it shouldn't. Perhaps its because you are a happy person naturally and so relieved thats it not your funeral you're attending again - How many have unfortunately had to attend.
