SARHA,BETH,ALICE, AND AL WOULD LIKE TO GO TO ITALY IN 5 YEARS.THEY ESTIMATE THE TOTAL COST WOULD BE $7000. EVERYONE INVESTED $1450 in the same savings account paying 4.5% interest with a compunded semiannually.
this problem has to be worked out in the same way as i have done for the previous problem which is very much similar to this...
the answer for this is... $7245 38 cents will be with them at the end of 5 years..
is that right???

-1/2 <= (4x-1)/4 <2/3
1.) Divide by (4x-1)/4.
-1/2 <= x-1/4 <2/3
2.) Add 1/4 to all sides.
-1/2 +1/4 <= x-1/4 +1/4 <2/3 +1/4
-1/4 <= x <2/3 +1/4
2/3 + 1/4 = 8/12 + 3/12 = 11/12
-1/4 <= x <11/12 (answer)
edit: I accidentally said -1/2 + 1/4 = -3/4...
