I am a Canadian but occassionally watch the news from Detroit and see there may be a teachers strike....the School board offers a 5% wage cut and the teachers want about 15% over 3 years...they showed a graph and it said the average teacher makes $72,000 per year in the district going on strike,,,with 5 years experience and a amsters degree...compared with from $76,000 to $82,000 per year for other districts in the same region...
