I'd suggest that you immediately apply for welfare (if you don't have it already) and getting help through their Homeless Assistance Program. The Homeless Assistance Program will usually either help you pay your rent so you don't lose your home, or pay for a few weeks at a motel. And then when you find a place to live, the program will pay all or most of the costs associated with your moving into a new home like the deposit, utility deposits, etc. They can even help you get a fridge and stove if you need them. ALL STATES HAVE A WELFARE HOMELESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, so ask your case worker about it. I don't know what state you live in, but here's some links you might find useful or informative. Hope this helps, and good luck.

Have you tried asking family members for help until you get back on your feet? If you have and they won't help then you should try for family shelters. I know it sounds bad but some shelters are not all that bad. I myself went through something similar, but mine was domestic related and that was my only choice. At first I hated it because I felt like I let myself and my kids down but after a while I learned to accept it and make the best of it. They will help you get back on your feet and eventually you will be able to leave the place. If you go to church, ask your pastor for advice. Explain your situation and he may be able to help you in the right direction Don't give up, keep making phone calls. Sign up for all the housing help you can find. Just because the waiting list is long means nothing. Some people end up not showing up for their appointments or find other places to go so their names get taken off and the next person is called. Call the shelters, especially family related ones and find out what they will do for you and your children. As for the dog, unless it's a shelter that's private like a farm or out in the country, they won't take him in too. Find someone that will care for him until you get back on your feet.
Don't give up. Make all the calls you can and keep strong for yourself and your kids. Living in a shelter is not a bad thing. You are doing the best you can to care for your kids and avoid living in the streets. Good luck and God bless.

1. contact your states welfare office.
2. Get rid of the dog.

May be hard but it will be easier in the end.

There should be a link on-line for the welfare office, they will be able to help you with immediate assistance for relocation and permanent fixes. But if I could suggest, get off the med's. Depression is something everyone has, the way to get out of this bad place you are in. Is to stop seeing yourself as a victim. Change is hard but it is worth it.

Good Luck

If it comes down to it, and you have to go to a shelter, DO NOT put your dog before your children. Place him in a shelter, or with a family member or friends.
PUT YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES ON AND DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO!!!!
