I've always been a late one for work then i got a job about 10 minutes walk from home and was fine for about 5 months. For the last 2 months, i've been late.
I'm a security guard and start at 7 am for 4 days then i'm off for 4.
I've got it easy but still can't grasp the getting up for work thing...I'm an absolute nightmare and now my employers have red flagged me..can someone explain why i'm so bad at waking up.
( i usually go to bed at about 11pm and do all the normal things before i sleep...read a book, make some sweet lovin and so on)

You just need to get a bloody loud alarm, maybe three or four, set them for about an hour before you _need_ to get up, and stagger them by about a minute or two. Then place them at difficult to reach places around the house. You'll get up to turn them off, or your neighbours will break in and throttle you. Either way, you'll be up and ready for the day. Once you get into the routine you'll be fine.

I'm not a morning person either, it takes me ages to 'come round'. I exercise every day which helps me sleep, and I find that vitimin C helps me be more allert in the morning.

Try setting a routine to get your stuff ready each evening so that your morning isn't so much of a rush.....

... and my favourite tip would be put your LOUD alarm clock the other side of your bedroom so you have to get up to turn it off, then get straight in the shower, don't be tempted to go back to sleep for a snooze.

the reason might be that you are not a 7am person and your brain doesn't want you to be awake in that hour.
another reason might be that you hate your job and your brain doesn't want to to be awake in that hour.
what you need to do is to trick your brain: in a day that you are off work, doesn't matter what the time is, set your alarm to 15 minutes later. go to bed and wake up right when the alarm rings (you won't be tired so it won't be hard).
do it more than once, your brain might need 10-15 times of practicing it.
then, when your alarm rings in the morning you are going to wake up immediately.
