I've recently installed laminated shiney worktops in my bathroom and to my horror they are beginning to scratch, even though I have been extremely careful with them. Is there anything that I can put on to stop the scratching and anything I can use to remove the scratches that have already occurred? Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Sue

Sadly, once scratched, it's there forever. You could try placing something decorative directly over the scratch to hide it. I use worktop protectors on all my surfaces to prevent exactly that - but the quality of laminates about these days is so poor, they scratch as soon as you look at them. Save up for some proper granite.

The problem of scratches is unavoidable its inevitable, however to repair and makes these scratches invisible is simple.
get some filler (cork) from any hardware store about £3, make sure u get the matching colour obviously close matching will always do.and rub a little bit into the scratch mark. Then whip with a damp cloth and leave to dry.

never use any type of abrasive. soapy water & a soft cloth. once scratched laminates are very difficult to remove if only lightly scratched try white spirit on a cotton pad in a gentle circular motion good luck

Some possibilities...
Polish the surfaces with Brasso or Jeweller's Rouge.
I have in the past used a good quality car wax.
Maybe the surfaces could be varnished.
Cover the surfaces with transparent sticky backed plastic.
I'm sure there are plenty of other options, good luck!

Brasso can work, so can silver polish. Also you can try 1200 grade wet and dry with water as a lubricate.

Long term the solution might be glass covers - you can get your local glass merchant to cut 3 mm glass adn have "ground" edges for a few quid.

Sorry, its not good news.

There is nothing that will remove scratches.Putting pads or cloths or other types of covers will stop any further scratches . They may look a bit untidy but you must choose.... pads = no scratches, no pads = natural wear and scratches.

If they are made of wood try using a varathane finish. This won't remove the recent damage but it will prevent more from occuring. If they are made of composite material, try using a mild rubbing compound to remove the scratches.

you cannot remove the scratches.
that is why designers always suggest matte finish laminate table tops. you can put a glass plate cut to shape over your glossy laminate table top.
that will be of easy maintenance for u.
