I'm sorry to hear that your son is sick =(

Unfortunately, side effects from vaccines are more common than people think. Doctors dont usually mention that part. You mentioned that he was given the Measles vaccination. Was he given the individual Measles vaccination or the MMR - multiple, combined vaccination?

The CDC has a program called VAERS (The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System). Most people don’t even know that this website exists because doctors and nurses usually don’t mention it. You should definately report your son's reaction to their site:
Here is the link:
https://secure.vaers.org/VaersDataEntryintro.htm

Here is a list of cases that have been reported to the VAERS database. I searched for all children ages 0-2, who had reactions to the MMR vaccine. (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

"Found 16253 records with From age '0' and To age '2' and Vaccine contains 'MMR'"
Here is the link. You can see the age of the patients along with the adverse reactions that they had to the vaccine. Click here and scroll down:

http://www.medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?LOWAGE=0&HIGHAGE=2&SEX=&STATE=&PRIOR_VAX=&VAX_DATE_LOW=&VAX_DATE_HIGH=&CUR_ILL=&VAX=MMR&VAXDOSE=&VAXMAN=&VAXROUTE=&VAXLOT=&VAXSITE=&ONSET_DATE_LOW=&ONSET_DATE_HIGH=&REPORT_DATE_LOW=&REPORT_DATE_HIGH=&SYMPTOMS=&HISTORY=&L_THREAT=&ER_VISIT=&DIED=&HOSPITAL=&DEATH_DATE_LOW=&DEATH_DATE_HIGH=&X_STAY=&RECOVD=&LAB_DATA=&DISABLE=&OTHER_MEDS=&V_ADMINBY=&V_FUNDBY=&PAGENO=1&PERPAGE=10

If you want to run your own search, you can just go to the bottom of the page and click on "New Search"

You should probably take your son to a Naturopathic Doctor. There are Vitamin treatments that can help your child make it through this ok.

Homeopathic Doctors also have remedies for Post-Vaccination Syndrome.

Good luck! I hope your son gets better soon.

Many children have mild reactions to vaccines. The vaccination actually contains a small amount of the disease, so it's normal for him to get a little sick.
If the cough syrup doesn't help, then stop giving it to him. Too much medicine is bad for babies (and adults). Just keep trying to feed him liquids more than solids. Breastmilk or formula would be the best bet right now. Besides the comfort he gets from the familiar feeding position, it's also easier for him to swallow and digest the milk over solids.
If it persists for more than a day or two, go to your doctor again. Ask about another medicine. Or just go to the store and get an OTC one for babies. They really are safe. My kids doctor hands out trial sizes when it's not a serious problem. They are free, and they work just as well as some of the expensive prescriptions.

Does he soudsn croupy ? Does the syrup seem to help at all ? My daughter always had bronchitis and croup when she was a baby and we would use the vaporizor and a tsp of onion juice, the onion juice breaks down the plylem they have and clears it up quicker.. I like you don't think the vaccs and his symptoms are hand in hand with each other, I just think he may have picked something up somewhere from someone else.. a cold or somthing...

Take him to the Ped first thing in the AM, watch out for his breathing ect. Also he could be having an allergic reaction to milk. It could develop. Maybe consider a soy forumla until he can be evaluated by the doc. But take him back to the doc ASAP.

Stop giving him milk products, they cause phlegm which causes coughing. Give him juices and water and don't worry about solid foods. How long after the vaccination did he get sick?

You are thinking about this wrong. What other reasons besides shots do kids go to the doctor?? Uhhh because they are sick. He probably picked up a toy or some object another sick kid had or touched a counter, etc.
