I'm with you all the way !!! It's a joke sometimes to read the answers provided...eg. a question regarding a transmission in a Neon, one answer was, I think your car is not going into overdrive !!!! No way, you idiot, neons only ever came with a 3 speed transmission. I too do not answer questions if I don't know the answer. I can only imagine that those who ask the questions are sent on a wild goose chase because of wrong answers. As far as the points, shitt, it won't get you free flights !!! So why be concerned about points. I think those with thousands of points must not have a life, all they do is answer questions without any real knowledge of the topic. I'm finding this allot with transmission questions. Unfortunately some of the wrong answers come from certified techs, and not to put their experience/knowledge down, but transmissions are a speciality which allot of auto techs won't go near. They have evolved allot is a short amount of time.

You have a great point. Experience is what most of these clowns do not have. I too have built many cars and trucks. It always amazes me, some of the lame azz answers that show up here. Wonder how many people get miss-guided because of it.

I am with you on this. I only answer questions I am aware of the ans. Also I will correct the "misinformed" answerers. Of which one sent me an email swearing at me. On another note I feel that questions should be catagorized correctly. For instance, a question listed in Cars & Transportation>Mainenance & Repair, should have something to do with the maintenance or repair of a car (truck) or some other form of transportation. Hmmmm.....................

What I find is that most people do not provide enough info when they ask their questions so everyone is really just guessing anyway. I usually reccomend that people go get a diagnostic check.

Because they feel as if they have something to give, either to themselves, or to the person asking the question. Sometimes, they try to relate it to their life experiences.

Besides, it's giving points, right? Arghhh!

Stupid point system.

I agree with you. I think most people do it for the points. I say still put your answer on so at least they can read what you have to say.

maybe some people honestly believe they know the answer and are trying to help...but then again there are some people who just want to be foolish..it's up to you the asker of the question to try and determine which is the most sensible answer.
