Sound like you have leaf curl. It is a fungus disease. To get rid of it you will have to apply a fungicide.

This sounds like the fig tree may need repotting, check under the pot to see if the roots are coming out then repot using John Innes compost No 2. and a pot size at least 1/2" bigger in diameter. You can help your fig tree by placing some gravel in a dish for the plant to sit on. Add water to the dish, not straight in the pot. Allso get a plant sprayer you know those cheap plastic ones you get at Pound Shops and give your Fig Tree a spray now and again using slightly warm water. Dont place your tree in full sunlight. Feed your plant using Baby bio and follow instructions on the bottle. Feed it about once a fortnight during the growing season. In the winter season, water less and keep away from radiators

You're probably either giving it too much water, or not enough. If it's a house plant, move it away from direct sunlight and sources of heat - check the soil's not absolutely sodden. Give it a break from watering, if it is, or give it some houseplant food if it's not. If it's especially large it may be pot bound, struggling to survive in very little compost - pot it on.
