Yes there is no problem in it. You can use two of them together simultaneously.

You have to leave the Internet Explorer on your pc - it's an integrated part of the operating system (type a URL into the address bar of Windows Explorer and watch it tun into Internet Explorer).
It's also pretty useful to hang on to, because Mozilla can't handle the website for Microsoft Windows Update.
You can hide the IE icon on your desktop however.
And you can set Mozilla as the default browser, whenever you open an HTML document.
And if you're feeling paranoid, you can even set your firewall to ask-for-permission every time IE tries to connect to the Internet.

You don't need to uninstall Internet Explorer. Just install Mozilla. That would mean you have two browsers. If you want to surf the Internet then you can just choose Mozilla and do your regular surfing. Explorer will only work if you choose it as your browser.

You can also place a Mozilla shortcut on your desktop. Just like how you have it with Internet Explorer. And one more thing, you can also set Mozilla to be your default browser. Happy surfing!!!

When you install Firefox it will ask if you would like it to be your default browser: click the "yes" box. You can still use internet explorer and if you uninstall Firefox it will return to being your default browser.

I think the operating system utilizes some of the core of Internet Explorer when you are viewing your folders etc on your computer. So you can't remove it completely.

You can have both in the same compute. No problem at all. I’m using IE, FireFox and Opera (all three) in the same computer to test web sites.

there is no problem-the 2 programs CAN work on the same computer, but I recommend not using the IE,because it's not safe.
