I'm going to SF this labor day weekend, we'll be staying at Union Square area which I know, its a good spot for shopping.
But I'm hoping I could find another shopping spot, like vintage clothing store and small boutiques too.
Like in LA, if you want to find vintage clothing, you just go to La Brea/Melrose or small boutique you go to Melrose, Santa Monica etc.
And some cool places for hang out too wouldnt hurt.
And is sausalito nice place to visit?
And where is the famous place (where there's a neighbourhood that show at "Full House")?
Could any fashionista and shopaholic help me?
Thanks !

You are staying in the perfect area for shopping. Yes, there is a huge Macy's, Saks 5th Ave, Nordstrom's (a few blocks away). Be sure to check out Cyril Magnin Lane (just down the street from the store!) as there are plenty of great boutique and vintage shops. Another area is called Pacific Heights and it's on Filmore St. A very nice, famous area which is mostly vintage and boutique. Only about 15 mins from the Square. One could literally spend days in either area, really.
If you are a true shopaholic these two areas will do just fine. Have lived here for over 30 yrs and I love to shop!
Sausalito is a great place to visit but I never shop there - very touristy and ridiculously expensive. However, a great place for lunch or dinner is the Horizon restaurant - you are over the water and have a spectacular view of SF, east bay and surrounding areas. Was just there for lunch yesterday - my favorite.
Have a great time and shop til you drop, I say! Of course cocktails at the St. Francis will pick you right up! :)

H&M has a great selection and some awesome deals. They are just off Union Square on Post Street. If you've never been there, it's a fashionista's dream.
For vintage clothing, head to Haight Street. They have a number of vintage boutiques and amusing drag queen shops.
The "famous place" you're referring to is probably those four colorful Victorian houses seen on so many postcards, known as the "Painted Ladies."

There are a few small stretches of streets in San Francisco that can be equivalent to Melrose (but not as extensive). One is Hayes Valley area, which is mostly small boutiques. Another is Union Street. It is located in the Marina/Cow Hollow area of San Francisco. It is mostly small boutiques. Not too much vintage (that I remember). It is an easy cab ride from Union square. I've never taken the bus from Union Square to Cow Hollow area, but you can plan it out at this site:
www.sfmuni.com
For vintage clothing, you will have to go to the Haight-Ashbury Area (near golden gate park), or 24th Street/Castro/Noe Valley area. They are an easy BART and Bus ride away. you can also use the above site to plan it out.

You can find vintage stores in the upper Haight (street, near Golden Gate Park also other shops and food). It's a good place to people watch too. Boutiques you can find in Hayes Valley (http://www.hayesvalleyshop.com/) and on Union Street (a big street but to find the specific area you can look at: http://www.unionstreetshop.com/). There's the Embarcadero which isn't usually all that busy on the weekends (near Embarcadero Bart). North Beach is a fun neighborhood, north of Chinatown it's italian and has a lot of cafes. My favorite is steps of rome with the sometimes singing and dancing waitstaff. I like sausalito, and I've never taken a woman there who didn't think it was beautiful.
This site should help:

Have you been down to the Wharf yet around Pier 39 ??? You say that you want places other than Union Square. Well in my opinion, The Pier 39 area is alot better than Union Square. There are so many little shops along the wharf and restaurants aswell. Always buzzing, always plenty of shopping. Go directly to Pier 39 and check out the 2 story stretch of shops. You got your low end souvenirs but also your high end jewelery and everything. Go there :)

Union square is great for shopping, you could check China Town, Pier 39 - or go across the bay to Berkeley. Berkeley may have more of what you are looking for. Also - Sausalito is great, but don't forget to visiting Ghiradelli's while you're there, and if you like garlic, go to the Stinking Rose for dinner one evening. Yum!

For boutiques attempt Union highway for prominent products (note: that's not a similar as Union sq., in reality, that's no longer even close to there). Haight highway also has a gaggle of outlets once you're more beneficial into funky/vintagey issues. Chinatown has shops even if that's more beneficial touristy products.
