i was listening to the radio today and this song came on the classic rock station and it started out playing the piano alone and it sounded like one from the 1700's.

then the lyrics start and im not sure, but all i could make out were "think of all the things you'll see" and "carry on."

then towards the end of the song they just played all their instruments.

it sounds like freddy mercury from Queen, but i dont know for sure.

any ideas???

Sailing Away by STYX! Now, fork over the 10 points, dab nab it!
.....please?

IT'S STYX!!!!!!!!! Not Queen.

Sailing Away starts with a keyboard that sounds like a 1700's harpsichord.

Right ON! Seamus knows all the lyrics. Good job dude!

I bet it's "Lela" by Eric Clapton. Does the solo seem to go on and on and on like, forever? I also think its a pretty piano solo.

Well although I am also sure it is Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, you may want to go here and check the lyrics yourself to be sure:

Well nm now, shorty edited her answer to include all the lyrics (taken from the above link) so just read them up there. Also very tacky to do a thumbs down vote on my post after using it to better your own shorty.

Bohemain Rhapsody, by Queen..Released 31st October, 1975 - Spent 17 weeks on chart (9 at number 1). Went Platinum. First song ever to take advantage of a promotional video. Re-released 9th December, 1991. Entered charts at number 1.

Incidentally,
"Bismillah" is the opening word in the Qu'ran (Koran) and literally means "In the name of Allah."
"Scaramouch" according to the dictionary means "a stock character who appears as a boastful coward."
"Beelzebub" is one of the many names given to "The Devil."

Lyrics
Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me

Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody - I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo - (anyway the wind blows)
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all

I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning - very very frightening me
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo Figaro - magnifico

But I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go - will you let me go
Bismillah! No - we will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let me go
Will not let you go - let me go (never)
Never let you go - let me go
Never let me go - ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no -
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me
for me
for me

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Oh baby - can't do this to me baby
Just gotta get out - just gotta get right outta here

Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters - nothing really matters to me

Anyway the wind blows...

no no no ... Curt is right, it is "Sailing Away" by Styx.

Im sailing away, set an open course for the virgin sea
Ive got to be free, free to face the life thats ahead of me
On board, Im the captain, so climb aboard
Well search for tomorrow on every shore
And Ill try, oh lord, Ill try to carry on

I look to the sea, reflections in the waves spark my memory
Some happy, some sad
I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had
We live happily forever, so the story goes
But somehow we missed out on that pot of gold
But well try best that we can to carry on

A gathering of angels appeared above my head
They sang to me this song of hope, and this is what they said
They said come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me

I thought that they were angels, but to my surprise
They climbed aboard their starship and headed for the skies
Singing come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me
Come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me
