If you are a girl just say you had major period pain (if your boss is a guy, he will be to embarrassed to get mad) and if you are a boy tell them you had a major case of the runs..... better you don't give it to them.

If you haven't got a genuine reason go to work, they pay you don't they ? How would you feel if their was a question asked "What excuse can I give for not paying my staff today?"

If you just call in sick one day your employer can't legal ask you anything else. If you miss 2 or 3 days they can ask for a doctor's note. But, one day no. Besides, we all sometimes have things we need to take care of and just need one day. Just, call in and say your calling in sick- don't need to say anything else.
