I think everyone in the entire world does that. It's totally contagious. Whether you are seeing someone yawn or just hearing the word 'yawn' you are probably yawning yourself.
((To me, the curious thing is that a Mexican can walk right up to you and say 'bostezo' and unless you understand that that word means 'yawn' in Spanish, you won't yawn. Yawning is definitely some kind of mental thing.))

if one person yawns, this will cause another person to "sympathetically" yawn. The reasons for this are unclear; however, recent research suggests that yawning might be a herd instinct.
Other theories suggest that the yawn serves to synchronize mood behavior among gregarious animals, similar to the howling of the wolf pack during a full moon. It signals tiredness to other members of the group in order to synchronize sleeping patterns and periods of activity. It can serve as a warning in displaying large, canine teeth. This phenomenon has been observed among various primates. The threat gesture is a way of maintaining order in the primates' social structure. The contagion of yawning is interspecific ( try yawning in front of your dog). Oddly, sometimes sympathetic yawning may be caused by simply looking at a picture of a person or animal yawning, or even seeing the word "yawn".

yawning is indeed contagious. we yawn because we have too much carbon dioxide in our body. so when somebody is nearby, once you yawn, you'll exhale carbon dioxide which will be inhaled by them, thus they yawn too.
there was a time when me and my friends were sitting in a circle (about 5 of us ).i yawned, then everybody else followed.. it was so funny!! we looked at each other doing the same thing.. haha.. you can imagine how it was... =)

I have heard that it dates back to when we were apes.
Someone yawns to show off there teeth to stop other monkeys from attacking them in there sleep.
When you yawn in return, you are showing your teeth as if to say, my teeth are sharp as well and i am warning you too monkey man.
