well, i was an inch shorter then u a year ago (im now 14) and i weighed 110 pounds, but my doctor told me to gain weight, so im now ur height and weigh about 125 lb. You dont really have that much to lose, and if u do gymnastics, its probably mostly muscle. Plus its not really the number, its how you look. But what you can do is (if u do eat junk food) stop eating junk food and eat more fruits and veggies. BUt make sure ur not stopping yourself from eating. I like to do ddr (DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION) and it has an exercise thing on it where u put in your weight # and how many calories you want to lose. AFter each song there is a chart to tell you how many calories u burned, how much left there is to go, how far u "ran", and stuff like that...not to mention its fun and you can do it with a friend
FRIends always make things more fun.
Good Luck
Hope i helped
AND DONT GET DANGEROUSLY THIN!!!!!

Your gymnastics coach would be the best one to advise you on diet & nutrition. Other than I know you have to be as thin as healthy-possible for your sport, I would say you only need to lose 10 or 15 lbs. to be nearly perfect. But if you are not pursuing a career in gymnastics, don't get carried away with losing weight. At your age, you should still have baby fat that your body will dispose of naturally when the time is right. Every girl in the world does not need to look like she hasn't seen food in months. It isn't healthy, & it really isn't that attractive.

At 5'8" and 146 lbs, I am not sure why you would need to loose weight. If you really feel you need to loose weight, follow your doctors directions. Keep in mind, you may be the only person that thinks you need to loose weight, we are always hardest on ourselves.

You're actually not overweight. You shouldn't want to lose more than ten pounds or so. I'm with the other girl. Doctors will give you the best advice. Good for you for wanting to go about this in a healthy way!

Eat fruits and veggies! Fish is good too, but I'm veg, so I don't really condone it, haha.
Also, if you're devoted, keep track of how many calories you eat, and make sure to burn more than that through exercise. Also, eat smaller portions throughout the day, rather than big meals, and eat sloooooooooowly. This will let your body tell you when it's full.
Good luck!

You can deal with it by cutting down on the amounts you eat at certain times. Stop eating when bored. If your going to have a low activity level then whatever you eat should be more sensible versus a higher activity level that burns more calories.
Serve yourself smaller portions and you'll find you eat less and are comfortable with it.
Of course exercise.

Stay away from McDonalds and any of the other greasie spoon places. I just answered your question on ballet dancing. That alone should work some of your weight off. Do some walking, bike riding and other physical exercise and watch what you eat. If your hungrey and want to snack... eat celery or carrots to fill yourself up.... Stay away from the candy and such. Eat fruit to stave off your candy thoughts.
