From recent news Darrel Hair offered to step down with the aid of a financial incentive, but asked the ICC not to publicise it. They took this step without consulting him. I would think he was offering himself as a scapegoat: he resigns, get his money quietly afterwards and the case is closed. The ICC obviously didn't agree with his logic.

Yes, but his timing was wrong he did it when he wasn't fully coherent and in a situation where his thoughts weren't as clear as what they could have been. Its nice to know that they protected two Australian players from controversy but he slipped the boot into Darrell Hair. There's nothing like inconsistency and double standards. The toothless ICC will hang him out to dry, they can't control him so this gives them every excuse to get rid of him and appease those of his detractors who want there piece of flesh.

to be honest, hair doesn't deserve $500,000 in return him to stepping down. if u take the picture the other way round, suppose the ICC declares hair to resume umpiring, but he won't be umpiring against pakistan, sri lanka, bangladesh and india in the future.
this would undoubtedly, create agony and incompetency within him and he has to live with this the rest of hi life. so he thinks that by asking $500,000 he would quietly step down, which is very cunning of him. i think he shouldn't be paid anything because he is already on a $60,000 salary.

i'm neither unhappy nor chuffed. yet one subject is definite Hair coach his factor by using getting him reinstated interior the Elite Panel. He may well be biased in the direction of Asian international locations in many social gathering, he grew to become into no longer in incorrect part over Pakistan's ball tampering subject and awarding journey to England after Pak's walkout. He grew to become into basically following the policies and regulation.

This is he makes his living[professional umpire] and he is entitled to all such privileges as his terms of employment allow.I personally cant wit to read his memoirs where he justifies and proves, naming names, who in the pakis side actually cheated by ball tampering. That will send most of you ducking for cover!!

Who do you think Hair is? His aim is to earn money....and he has asked money with conviction like a true businessman....I beleive he is planning well for himself and for his retired life. His asking of money shows that he is confident about the demise of his career.
