Off-strip it is like most cities. Definitely not boring & heat over -estimated by many. Plenty of jobs & things to do. There is crime but that is the story in big cities now. Getting expensive but not up to Cal or northeast levels yet. If you care about culture they are trying to build that up but that is a terrible mistake they will regret.

I lived there before moving to Cancun. It's fun for the single person with no kids and just has to take care of themselves. There is everything that you want there if you are like that. It's exciting at first but after years you start to miss the ocean and the green scenery. There are people who love it and never move. After living there for years and having a daughter there's only so much you can do there with a child. It's perfect for the kind of person who knows when to have fun but can avoid the corruption and temptation there in Sin City.

its OK,i have been here for 10 yrs,the winters are real light, maybe 45 on a cold day, theirs snow in the mountains, about an hours drive if that, does not rain in the winter much at all,the summers are rather hot,it starts to get into the 100's around April, then into the 118"s in July, then back down to 100's in august that lasts till around October,in the summer, theirs desert off road riding, water skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, the lake, then every casino has a club, and always have big name people in then, gambling, but if you live here, not too good to gamble all the time,it can get you into serious trouble, casinos all have shows, nightlife lasts all night,24 hr town.....you can walk down the strip drinking and not get any ****.......but their is the ugly side,we have gangs, homeless, carjackings, shootings, our elected officials all seem to get into some weird trouble, our mayor is an ex-mob defender, who is an alcoholic, who proudly admits it....you know modern day Sodom.not really, same things like any city, theirs also the strip clubs....all over....but be careful taking taxis to them you will be charged extra....if you have a family its the same on the outer city's as any.hope that helps Little
