They're both great. Robin Williams is the one that practically writes the script while he's acting it. He's awesome!
Jim Carrey is funny too but he's not as into improvisation as Robin is. Robin pretty much has a free pass to improv whenever he works. Some of his best moments were improv.

I think it's gotta be Robin Williams. Jim Carrey does too many "stupid-funny" things.

Robin Williams. Personally Jim Carey is more of an irritant and I feel plays roles that actually belong in the comic strips.
Robin Williams actually has an Oscar and is a better actor. He can play both dramatic and comic roles equally well. If he's in a movie that is the movie I'll watch.
I did see Jim in "liar, liar." By the end of the movie I felt if I saw him one more time I would scream. He's insane. And that's not a good insane.

I like them both, but I'd have to say Jim Carrey. Carrey really pulls off his characters. Williams is funny too, but here lately, I think he has been trying to play more serious roles( esp. the one where is the creepy photographer) and House od D (although I thought he did a wonderful job) but that ust doesn't work for me.

I admire Jim Carrey in The Mask and Simon (I think that was the title of the movie....he narrated it). Other than that, I find him obnoxious...especially when he gives interviews and starts with all those facial expressions.
As Robin Williams ages, I find him more compelling to watch...especially in Mrs. Doubt fire and Patch Adams. He is also much easier to watch (now) during interviews since attempting to kick or kicked his addictions (way to go Robin. My prayers are with you). With all that said, my vote goes to Robin Williams.
