Did you have unprotected sex? When is your period due? Are you irregular in your cycles because you are breastfeeding? You could have the flu... you could be pregnant... could be a number of things... Call you Dr and see what they say... and/or take a test

The "mini pill" is not all sugar pills, but it is all progesterone instead of containing the combination of that and estrogen in regular birth controll pills. Like all hormonal pills, it does have a failure rate and it is possible that you are pregnant. Only testing can give you that answer.

However, what concerns me more is that you have been ill for weeks and have not seen a doctor. Frequent or prolonged headaches can indicate something serious and so could nausea and diarrhea that lasts that long. If it is some kind of infection, you could pass this on to the baby, so for both of your sakes, please make an appointment to find out what is going on.

It is most certainly possible. The pill like other methods of birth control are not 100% effective. Heck, I got pregnant while on the patch!

It's probably the good ol' flu you're having, but it is possible to get pregnant while on any birth control pill. I did with my first one. Take a test just to be sure, but I bet you're just sick.

How can a sugar pill keep you from getting pregnant?

Yes. Nothing, not even a pill can guarantee that you will not get pregnant. Nothing works 100%
