They analyze everything and I mean everything as the line is crucial to amount bet......They are concerned with the total amount bet and while the line slides as the money of money wagered on either team tilts it......an opeming line that is attractive to betting on both sides is what they seek

They analyze home field, injuries, past results, matchup, strength of schedule......what they sometimes miss especially early in the season is newly emerging and newly declining teams....they tend to go with previous years history and adjusting their lines to improved or declining talent is a gradual thing they do...............when pats where first emerging for example....they covered spread like 11 out of thirteen times....watch for the newly emergent teams and ride them a while
