it scares me how many people have suggested you give your little man things he can actually choke on!!!

ice and bread are major no-no's!!! he's a baby!!

teething rings work great but only put them in the fridge-frozen ones can actually cause damage to his tender gums...

washcloths stored in the fridge work great too-they are soft and cold which he should find soothing...

don't use any type of alcohol on him-i don't think i need to explain why...

tylenol works good but ibuprofen will work better only b/c it has an anti-inflammatory in it to help reduce the gum swelling...

i have 3 little girls and i totally remember the teething stage-it's a miserable one to go through but it will pass before you know it!!

good luck

My daughter is teething too.

Be sure not to give him too much Tylenol (only when the fever is really high) as it can damage his liver. I have never heard the Orajel throat numbing thing and it really doesn't make sense as it is massaged into the gums and not left as a chunk to be swallowed.

There are homeopathic teething remedies. I like little balls of chamomile extract from the health food store, but you can also give them a little cooled chamomile tea off a spoon to calm them down.

I massage the gums and put teething toys in the freezer. I also put a clean damp face cloth in the freezer and give her that to chew on.

It's really too bad that we can't just take the pain away from our kids! But we can't. We can only try to make them as comfortable as possible.

Motrin is better than Tylenol because it targets the swelling and doesn't run the risk of liver damage like Tylenol does.

DO NOT give your baby frozen ice, or teething rings...he will choke on ice and bruise hims gums on the teething rings. Teething rings should be kept in the fridge, not the freezer.

The washcloth thing is a good idea.

put a wet washcloth in the freeaer until its a little frozen, just
crunchy, then let him chew on that, The cold helps ease the
pain in the gums.
Another way: give him a green onion to chew on Wash it and
cut off the root end. The onion has a anesthetic effect on the
gums. Some babies like the taste and will gum the onion like
crazy. And it helps.
My grandmother used to rub brandy on the gums but
that's definitely a no-no nowadays (even tho it did work)

If he's teething, then the nights are generally the greater severe because of the fact for the duration of the day they are prepared on different stimulation so the soreness would not hardship them that lots..attempt giving him Motrin at night and if he wakes up after 3 hours supply Tylenol, you already know alternating, for the duration of the day take a wash textile or his wash textile and positioned slightly ice in it, use a rubber band to make like a ice ball and enable him chew on it... this consistently helped with my infants...the feel of the wash textile and the coldness helps with the soreness... greater value-effective then teething toys that they generally do no longer look after besides... desire this helps...

Well I have been threw that stage and I tell you it is not pretty, But cold food can be very helpful . Chilled applesauce, yogurt and pureed peaches may be more appealing to your baby and also more nutritious than a chilled teething ring. Also when your baby is intending to play give the baby rubber toys to chew on it could help alot.Even nawing on a frozen carrot.

If you put the orajel on your finger and rub his gums he'll be fine. That's the one thing me and my sister used big time for both of our children. Also, take a clean wash cloth and get it wet and put it in the freeze it makes a good chew toy and helps numb there gums also.

You can try frozen teething rings but have a few so that there will always be a cold one. My mother once told me to rub rum on the gums but she was an alcoholic, I would definitely stay away from that one. I've known people who gave their babies frozen wash-clothes.

I gave my son teething tablets, you can get them from walmart. They are all natural and they work very well! They dissolve in their mouth almost instantly. They are only like 5 dollars a bottle for like 60 tablets or so. They are awesome, they worked on both of my children, my son still uses them he is 16 months old.
