Will A1 Grand Prix catch on?

Any sign of a televison deal with say Speed Channel etc.?

I follow F1. I had the opportunity to watch A1 last year, and also could have gone to watch it (much closer to where I live, no need to catch a plane to get there, much cheaper than F1 tickets), but I didn't. Don't really know why, but it didn't really raise my interest. It's still early days, and I might become interested in it one day, but they'd better get a move on and sign major sponsorships and TV deals before they shrivel up and disappear. I think F1 is the pinnacle of motor racing, and it kind of puts you off watching anything that's less.

Not sure about the channel deals - but it is too slow for me compared to F1... so it became a bit boring - not a die hard fan - may be if your country is taking part - mine is not - so not that interested - but I like the concept. Hope the cars will be faster as the seasons go !

I guess it all depends on which crowd you run with, but from where I stand, it has already caught on. It will take a little more time to get the whole thing up and running strong. There's already a bunch of race series. Is there room for one more?

It need way more aggressive promotions and well backed sponsors. Also, the more interesting and exciting it gets, the more it will catch on. But when that will be, its entirely up to the organisers

Don't know about A1. You obviously haven't been paying attention if you think that Formula One didn't 'catch on'.

It could be good - it just needs PROMOTION! The concept is really good but I think people tend to see it as being along the lines of Champ Car or F3 ( the cars anyway).

Not really. Formula 1 and Nascar are the main players.
