It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to get a false positive. If it says you are, you are.
The only exception is if you have cancer or another disease that is affecting your hormones. It sounds more likely that you got pregnant, as August 10 - 11 was your prime time.
Take another test in the morning, then start buying diapers.

There are a several possibilites, but you have stated the most likely one, dilution. The most accurate time to test is the first morning specimen. It is the least diluted and contains the most hormone.
Pregnancy tests have what is called a threshold to register a positive test, a certain level of hormone to be enough to cause the reageants to function. Drop below that level, either due to earyl pregnancy and levels too low to detect, or dilute the urine enough and it will will appear negative.
You would be in the first few weeks of pregnancy, and hormone levels are pretty low, They will rise rapidly as the pregnancy progresses. Should you miscarry, the levels being to decline.
The chances are that you are indeed pregnant. You may want to wait a day or two and try a first morning urine specimen, or you can get a blood level test done by a doctor, which is much more sensitive. Until you are sure, be good to yourself as if you are pregnant for sure, avoiding alcohol and all the other things not good for a pregnant woman.
If you keep getting different test results, seeing a doctor to find out what is going on would be a good idea anyway. But if I had to place a bet, I'd put the money on "pregnant."

You're pregnant.
A blood test will reasure it. But as I know from personal experiance, you don't always have a DR. when things like this happens.
Okay I'm going to try to explain this is the easiest way that someone explained it to me:
The hormone that your body produces is significant. If their is a line at all... (expecially is you had a line first, then a negative) then that 'preggo' hormone is there, somewhere, but it's there. in the way early stages of pregnancy your hormones fluxuate. When you take those digital tests, there can be no 'faded line' because it's eather 'she is' or 'she isn't'. It most likley said that you wern't because it's soooo early and you were just a TAD BIT under the 'she is' catagory...
I bet if you take another 'line' test that their will be a line. If you have the money, go do it. It dosn't have to be an uber expensive test. If it's faint at all, you're gonna have a lovely kiddo!
Does that make any sence? If it dosn't, just ask. I'll try to explain it better.

If you want to be sure, your best bet is going to be having a doctor do a blood test.
If you want to try another home test, take it with your first morning urine. That will have a higher concentration of the pregnancy hormone in it.
Good luck!

What you need to do is buy another pregnancy test, but DO NOT use it that day.
Go about your life as normal, and the very next morning, use it.
The body deposits HgC into the blood and it is highly concentrated in the morning urine.
If you're pregnant, it'll tell you via that urine.

pregnancy tests, especially the urine ones tend to come out wrong sometimes. how long has it been since you've missed your period? if you're newly pregnant, you probably won't show until about 3 months. it happened to someone close to me also. she took a test, negative. another one, negative. she took 3 more before she was convinced she wasn't pregnant. she had her yearly OB/GYN appointment for a pap smear and doc said "congratulations" and walked out the door. only until she got her blood test did the result come out positive. go figure.... good luck.

A false negative is possible, a false positive is not.
Regardless, it is important for you to get good, early pre-natal care to help date the pregnancy, get a due date and to look out for early miscarriage which, if retained, could cause infection and threaten your future fertility.
In the meantime, just focus on taking excellent care of yourself, eating properly and getting enough rest. Taking care of your body will help you and all the children you have in your future.

You need a blood a test. Urine tests can have a false negative result, but almost never have a false positive result. Call your doctor.

Buy another test and use it with your first "morning pee." The hormone concentration will be higher. If it comes back as negative, you could have had an ovarian cyst that was producing HCG. (It happens, I've had them.) If it comes back as positive, I'd make an appt with your ob/gyn. Good luck!! =)

You haven't missed a period yet, so it's probably too early to tell. But, then again, the tests are meant to detect a hormone that you shouldn't be producing unless you are pregnant. Go see your doc.
