As a household recycler, I find plastic bottles are very bulky and glass bottles require extra care. Both are difficult to store until I make a trip to the recycling center (where I get a 5 cent return on the deposit for each individual beverage container). I guess glass is more disruptive, because I'm always scared I'll break it, and it makes more noise.
I find recycling aluminum and cardboard to be more convenient, though I don't get any returned deposit on the cardboard, just the satisfaction of knowing that I'm cutting down on unnecessary landfill use in our island home.

Huh? How can glass or plastic be disruptive? I don't understand the question. I do recycle though.

Plastic is for me. Glass can be cleaned and re-used more easily as plastic gets stained and awfully disgusting when you want to re-use the item ( plastic containers). Plus it is a dangerous material that can't be left unattended if you have children. ( plastic bags )...
Glass containers can be made into decorative items and will remain attractive even after a long time.

Plastic takes much more energy to manufacture, so has a greater impact on the environment.
I recycle everything I can.
